Thanks for this reflection, Coach. I am not religious, yet I am deeply spiritual. Here are some of the differences, in my experience :
Religion - is an organized system of beliefs and practices, provides a structured framework, implies unquestioned faith, belief in an entity (God) outside of oneself .
Spirituality -is more personal and individualistic, allows lots of questioning, allows an open framework and does not follow a specific doctrine, rather than belief in an external God, one feels the God within.
So in summary, religion in like a guided tour and spirituality is like solo travel. But they do overlap. And how beautiful that this life offers us a buffet of options. At the root of it all is growing, transforming, and relieving suffering for oneself and others.
